On the Isle of Thanet
The Isle of Thanet is a beautiful but troubled island in the south east of England. Its people are ignored, have had essential services cut and many live in poverty. However, there is a spirit there, in the people and in the land itself. They are not only surviving, but they are staging a comeback of their own. Art, culture and innovation are the name of the game these days in Thanet. I spent four months there in late 2012 and early 2013. Here are some of the photographs I made during that time. They are all dedicated to the people of Thanet.
